Photos: Volunteers and Staff Revamp Frank Rice Access Center

The Frank Rice Center — the original home of Lamp — got a great facelift on April 2 and 3, thanks to the hard work, energy and spirit of some terrific volunteers and staff. Over two days, the group cleaned, painted and assembled new furniture and work and common spaces for expanded services to chronically homeless and formerly homeless men and women with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.

Dr. Olga Mohan and former Board Chair Fred Simmons join Executive Director Donna Gallup (center) in making over the Frank Rice Access Center.

Kaiser Permanente volunteers (right to left) Linda Brown, Shannon King and Teren King helped clean and paint on April 2.

Andrew Gallup, husband of Executive Director Donna Gallup, prepares a wall for painting.

Volunteer Gary Krakower did an amazing job painting and putting together furniture.

And now…

The newly painted common room is home to group counseling and other sessions.

The clean-up makes the ground floor of the Frank Rice Access Center bright and inviting.

New colors for one of the offices.

And a more lively surrounding for the Lamp staff.
